Where are you from?

I get this question a lot. And I understand. I'm a bit of an enigma! What is this Asian-looking woman doing engaged with Indian fashion? Is she from the Northeast of India?

My name is Patty Dhar, and I am American, born and raised.  My parents are from South Korea.  I’ve lived all over the U.S., but most recently spent the past couple of decades in or near New York City, before moving to Delhi.  My husband is Indian and grew up in Delhi.  We had lived there for more than nine years, more than half of my children’s cognizant life.  And Delhi is where my children now say they are from. And I can also say with ease that my heart is from India.
